On Monday we started class and met with Margo the owner of the school. She showed us around and talked to us about our expectations. Back in the States we had been taking online classes with Amanda, one of the teachers. We finally had our chance to meet her in person. Our class meets four hours per day. Wow! We quickly realized that we are not as young as we used to be. When our classes are finished for the day so are we!

We have was found the classes to be very challenging, even discouraging at first but we are settling in. Our whole week consisted of school, homework, grocery shopping, dinner and bed. Learning a language and always having to try to communicate in the neighborhood is mentally exhausting.

How is our apartment? Well, Sarah got to cleaning and organizing the moment we walked in. It is not fancy by any means but has everything we need. We are located in the heart of the city of Montevideo. That has been challenging for us. We are not used to living so close to others or in a culture that comes to life at 9:00pm. When they are eating dinner we are ready for bed. I don't think Sarah got more that three hours of sleep the first few nights. Dogs barking, cars whizzing by, restaurant clients talking until all hours of the night makes sleeping a little rough.

The biggest problem is that we do not have air-conditioning and it is hot. So, we can't close the windows at night. We live close enough to the neighbors that we can hear their forks scraping along their plates with every bit of food being consumed. Not only can't we sleep but we get hungry and find ourselves craving a midnight snack.

Unfortunately, we have been bad at taking pics but

we did some exploring yesterday.

Here are some for you to enjoy.

Buen dia,

Scott and Sarah

Another week has gone by and we are realizing that we have no time for anything but school. It pretty much feels like everyday life. We...
